Pace Football Player Earns Two Preseason Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – Pace University senior safety David Lopez earned two preseason All-American football honors.

The senior made the 2012 USA Football news Division II Preseason All-American First Team. He also made Second Team Defense for the 2012 D2 vs. NAIA Senior Bowl Preseason All-American Team.

Lopez led the Setters in tackles last season with 101, including 66 solo tackles, and made the Northeast-10 Conference Second Team. He forced three fumbles and had one tackle for a loss. He was third in the NE-10 and 22nd in the country with 10 tackles per game.

Pace opens its season at conference opponent Bentley University on Friday at 7 p.m.
