PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. Obum Anyichie (285 pounds) and James Bathon (106) each had pins in Pleasantvilles 39-18 win over visiting Westlake in a wrestling match on Thursday.
Anyichie registered his pin 57 seconds into the second period against Mike Manzo. It was a match-up of 2011 Section 1 Division II place finishers. These two wrestlers could meet again in sectionals.
Mark Taino (126) won by decision in a contested match. The Panthers capitalized on four forfeit wins.
Westlake had pins by Edgar Solis (152) and Nick OHalloran (138). Constantine Coffinas had the best match of the day, defeating Peter Salzarulo, 1-0, in the 170-pound bout.
