School officials accepted her resignation during last week's Board of Education meeting. Weill's last day will be June 29.

"I think that's one we will be accepting with regret," school board President Lois Winkler said.

Officials also granted tenure to five staff members, effective September 2013: music teacher Katherine Hughes, math teacher Amy Corradi, school psychologist Megan Cunningham, special education teacher Christopher Welsh and special education teacher Tania Zuccaro.

"This is a big accomplishment here in Pleasantville to get tenure. Getting a job here in Pleasantville is not an easy process," Winkler said. "It's a lengthy process and it is quite an achievement to be achieving tenure in Pleasantville. I send them my sincerest congratulations."
