Pleasantville School Board Tables Artificial Turf Bids

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Pleasantville Board of Education has awarded bids on three capital projects but left the decision on field turf unresolved, according to the Northern Westchester Examiner.

Seven bids were received to install artificial field turf at all three schools, with the lowest bid coming in at about $1.4 million. The issue remains divisive due to potential health risks associated with synthetic fill used in some of the fields, but a safer, more organic option was deemed cost prohibitive, the Northern Westchester Examiner said.
