Pleasantville High School Students Receive 108 AP Awards

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- More than 100 AP Scholar awards went to Pleasantville High School students from the College Board.

The College Board recently announced 108 AP Scholar awards for Pleasantville High School students for "exceptional achievement on the college-level Advanced Placement Exams," according to a press release from the school district. There were 36 handed out to students of the Class of 2014, who have the opportunity for further recognition, according to the release.

Roughly 22 percent of the 2.2 million students who took AP Exams earned awards, according to the release. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement, based on the number of AP Exams taken and the scores earned, according to the release. 

Students Amrithaa Gunabalan, Danielle Labruzzo, Colette McCullagh, Jeewan Naik, Matthew Pastore, Stephanie Rogers, Dana Stopler and Nicole Tu-Maung received the National AP Scholar Award, which is given to students who scored 4 or higher on 8 or more AP Exams and had an average grade of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, according to the release.
