To celebrate their 50th anniversary, a gala will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 6–9:30 p.m. at the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle. Honorees at the gala include Dorothy Botsoe, immediate past president of the Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors and principal of Dorothy Jensen Realty, and Ira Schumann, executive vice president at Savills Studley, one of New York City’s leading commercial real estate firms; they will both be honored for their ongoing and steadfast commitment to and passion for housing for all. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Marsha Gordon, chief executive officer of The Business Council of Westchester. There will also be a special appearance by Bobby Valentine, former coach of the New York Mets and current athletic director at Sacred Heart University.

Debra Budetti, co-owner and founder of ERA Insite Realty Services, with offices in White Plains, Pleasantville and Bronxville, has been a member of WRO’s Board of Directors since 2015. “As Realtors, we know the importance of WRO’s mission, as well as their educational workshops and counseling. The work they do in the community is invaluable,” said Budetti.

WRO serves over 7,000 individuals annually impacting over 30,000 lives through the delivery of their housing programs and activities. Critical programs to meet area housing needs include a Fair Housing Program which works to eliminate discrimination in housing, Senior Housing Assistance, First-Time Homebuyer Counseling and Education, Eviction Prevention, Foreclosure Prevention and an Independent Living Program for individuals with mental disabilities in need of housing and case management.
