Fairfield Cops: 40 Pounds of Pot Seized in Raid

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Approximately 40 pounds of marijuana were seized in a joint raid by Fairfield, Plainville and Southington Police this week. Skylar Arnold, 27, of Fairfield was one of three suspects arrested in Plainville Thursday on drug-related charges.

Fairfield Police connected Arnold to a drug distribution network that sold marijuana throughout Fairfield County, according to police reports. Investigators on surveillance duty saw Arnold take shipments from Jonathan Temporale, 29, of Plainville, and bring them to the Fairfield area, police say.

Fairfield, Plainville and Southington Police searched Temporale’s home Thursday, while Arnold was inside. Officers said they seized approximately 40 pounds of marijuana and $25,000 in cash from the house. Arnold, Temporale and a third man, Stephen Karolczuk, 30, of Bridgewater were all taken into custody. Karolczuk drove Arnold to the scene, according to police reports.

“Dealers often times try to exploit our jurisdictional restrictions,” Fairfield Police Chief Gary MacNamara said Friday. “What this case shows is that when law enforcement agencies cooperate, those jurisdictional boundaries just become lines on a map.”

Arnold and Temporale were both charged with intent to sell more than one kilogram of marijuana, possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, and operating a drug factory. Each was held on a $250,000 bond. Karolczuk was charged with conspiracy and possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and held on a $150,000 bond.
