Teenage Alcohol, Marijuana Use Being Discussed In Pleasantvile

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Dr.Marcia Nackenson and Pleasantville Strong Committee Member Colleen Griffin Wagner will hold an informational meeting for parents and residents on teenage alcohol and marijuana use at the Mount Pleasant Public Library on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

Nackenson is an clinical associate professor of pediatrics at New York Medical College.

Immediately following the 7 p.m. presentation, Pleasantaville Strong, will hold their regular coalition meeting. Residents are invited to join to learn about new initiatives to create a safe, healthy, drug and alcohol free environment for area youth.

Pleasantville Strong is a community-based coalition that works collaboratively with the Village of Pleasantville and its partners in local law enforcement, schools, businesses, faith based organizations, parents, youth, and health and other organizations.

The mission of the organization is to empower the community to promote positive youth development and strengthen community assets by coordinating services and opportunities through prevention initiatives, including suicide, alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.

The Mount Pleasant Library is at 350 Bedford Road, Pleasantville.
