WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Giuseppe (Joe) Tulumello, a Pace University alumnus and LEED Green Associate, was promoted to business unit leader of Gannett Fleming’s New York City office.

In his new position, he leads the operations, day-to-day management, client relations and growth of the New York City location.

Tulumello’s commitment to best-in-class client service empowers him to effectively lead the office. As a senior architect, he focuses on quality, project management, budget control and schedule adherence with every assignment.

Under his leadership, the New York City office’s architectural group more than tripled in the last five years. It continues growing with a focus on new construction, major renovations, restoration and adaptive reuse of transit, transportation, power and educational facilities.   “Joe is a committed and versatile leader," said James R. Laurita, P.E., a senior vice president and director of Gannett Fleming’s Northeast Region.

"He never loses sight of the multifaceted needs of his clients, including everything from the schedule and budget to overall design and aesthetics."

With more than 14 years in the industry, Tulumello’s project experience spans complex, multi-disciplined facilities projects.

He has served as the project manager for multiple facility renovation and modernization assignments at Metro-North Railroad’s Grand Central Terminal. As a trusted adviser to the New York City School Construction Authority, he served as project manager and lead architect of a multidisciplinary design team for the renovation of school facilities throughout the New York City area.    He also served as the project manager and lead architect for the renovation of the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel administrative building and service garage for the MTA Bridges and Tunnels.    Tulumello earned a bachelor of arts in business administration from Pace University and a bachelor of architecture from the New York Institute of Technology.
