Jacob Burns Premieres New Surfing Documentary

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The Jacob Burns Film Center will premiere the surfing documentary "Hangs Upon Nothing" on Wednesday, June 15.

The documentary by Jeremy Rumas explores the lives of several groups of surfers. One surfer, Chuck Corbett left his life behind at the age of 18 to surf the atolls of Kiribati, where he stayed for 30 years. 

Rumas shot the film over seven years on 16mm film. 

Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. 

The screening begins at 7:30 p.m. A Q&A with Rumas will follow the film. 

The Jacob Burns Film Center is at 405 Manville Road in Pleasantville.
