New York State has adopted Common Core State Standards which aim to prepare our pre-kindergarten through 12th grade students to be college ready by the time they graduate from high school. A few people may think that it is too early to put the pressures of college onto our students, and some may feel that college may not be “for” every child. I believe it is never too early to initiate awareness in the prospect of college and I do not believe that a post- secondary education is out of the reach for any of our students. In the future, many of our students will hold jobs that have not even been imagined yet! View Comment
