NEW HAVEN, CONN. Two Pace swimmers set school records at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships.
Kevin Dickson set the record in the 50-yard freestyle, in which he finished third, with a time of 21.60. The relay teams finished in sixth place in both the 200-yard freestyle relay and 400-yard medley relay. Dickson, Nick Targonski, Thomas Virgona and Matt McCann posted a time of 1:31.54 in the 200-yard and a 3:52.32 in the 400-yard event.
Pace finished in sixth place after the first day with 71 points. Host Southern Connecticut State University was in first with 288 points.
Kaitlyn Lynch also set a school record in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.97. She finished third while teammate Maria Montefusco finished 12th with a time of 25.49.
Georgie Goulding posted a personal best time of 5:17.11 in the 500-yard freestyle, where she finished ninth.
Lynch, Montefusco, Alexis Chocianowski and Hannah Oleksak finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:41.20.
Cassandra Gentile finished third in the one-meter diving event with a score of 380.30. Freshman Maria-Vitoria Bernardes came in 12th with a score of 316.25.
The Setters finished the day in fifth place with 125 points. Southern Connecticut led after the first day with 317 points.
Pace will get back in the pool for day two of the championships on Friday.
