PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Pleasantville High School football surged through the regular season, qualified for the postseason playoffs and defeated Nanuet, 16-14, in the Section 1 Class B semifinals.

Junior quarterback Mike Godino completed 12 of 15 passes in the first half for 147 yards and two touchdowns and lifted the Panthers into the title game, where they lost to eventual champion Lourdes in early November. Receiver Charlie Montgomery caught several key touchdown passes to help lift the Panthers into the playoffs.

The Pleasantville High School baseball team showed late-season poise by finishing strong with an 8-6 record, including a 3-0 victory against North Salem in the Section 1 Class B playoffs before losing to Dobbs Ferry in the quarterfinals.

Daniel “Rudy” Ruettiger of Notre Dame football fame, drew a large crowd to Pace University in August when he visited the Pleasantville campus to talk about his book "Rudy: My Story," which details his journey to Notre Dame and how his story became the popular film, "Rudy".
