PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- The defensive-minded Pleasantville Panthers will find a familiar foe waiting when they travel to Mahopac High School on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. to meet Our Lady of Lourdes of Poughkeepsie for the Section 1 Class B title.

Pleasantville (7-1) comes off a 28-0 semifinal victory over Nanuet but will need its defense to come up big again after losing tight end, linebacker and placekicker James Leyden who suffered a broken ankle and will not play. Leyden scored a touchdown and kicked two field goals in a 15-7 victory over Lourdes two weeks ago in the final game of the regular season.

Lourdes (6-2) defeated the Panthers 14-9 in last year's defensive battle for the title and this matchup will be more of the same.

The Panthers will try to control the game on the ground with fullback Enrico Ruotolo and quarterback Anthony Godino handling the offense. Linebacker Josh Della Puca will led the defense.

With a win, Pleasantville would have a bye next week and represent Section 1 at noon on Nov. 16 at Mahopac High School against the Section 9 champion in the state quarterfinals.
