Pace's Shields Makes All-Conference First Team

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The 16 coaches of the Northeast-10 Conference selected Pace’s Brittany Shields to the Northeast-10 All-Conference First Team.

Shields leads the Setters with 17.6 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game this season. She is fourth in the conference in scoring, third in rebounds and 10th in field goal percentage at 51.5 percent.

Shields earned NE-10 Rookie of the Year honors in 2008-09 and made the NE-10 Second Team last season. She also made the NE-10 Weekly Honor Roll 11 times this season.

She started the season with three straight double-doubles and accumulated 12 in total. She finished third in the conference in double-doubles and 17th in the nation in that category.

Shields reached several career milestones this season. She set a career-high in rebounds with 17 against New Haven on Feb. 4. She was the 25th person in Pace history to score 1,000 points when she reached the mark against Adelphi on Dec. 6.

She is ninth all-time in Pace history with 1,303 points and eleventh in rebounds with 749. She needs only seven points to reach eighth place and 12 points to reach seventh.
