Pace Women Overtake Franklin Pierce

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Kerri White scored a team-high 17 points and led the Pace women's basketball team to a 62-57 comeback victory over visiting Frank Pierce Saturday.

The Setters pushed their record to 14-3 overall and 11-1 in the Northeast-10 conference play, while the Ravens drop to 11-6 overall and 8-5.

Pace opened strong and led through the first eight of the game until the Ravens recovered to lead by a point with seven minutes remaining in the first half. The Setters responded with a run of their own and led 32-28 at halftime.

Franklin Pierce went up by as much as 11 points on the Setters eight minutes into the second half before Pace began its winning comeback. Margo Hackett hit a three-pointer with 3:55 left in the game to tie it at 55-55 and the Setters got two layups by Carol Johnson for a two-point lead that held up.

White added eight rebounds, two assists and four steals to her totals and Carol Johnson and Hackett each scored 14 points. Allison Cleary led the Setters with four assists and Brittany Shields contributed seven points and 11 rebounds.

The Setters return to action hosting the Warriors of Merrimack College Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.
