Pace Volleyball Ends First Week Of Preseason Camp

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace University women’s volleyball team wrapped up its first week of preseason camp Friday as it begins its quest to return to the NCAA Division II Tournament in 2012.

Pace returns a bevy of veterans and added seven new players, one of the largest such additions in program history.

The Setters return defending Libero of the Year, senior Elyse Rowland, to the team for 2012. Rowland also earned Daktronics First Team All-Region and Third Team All-American Honors last season. She finished first in the Northeast-10 Conference and in the top 15 in the nation in digs.

Senior Nora Rugova, a Mount Kisco native from Fox Lane High School, also returns to Pace. She led the team with 327 kills last season and earned NE-10 Second Team All-Conference Honors.

Pace begins its season with an Aug. 31 tournament at Rollins College.
