Pace Basketball Teams Host American International

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Pace men’s and women’s basketball teams host a doubleheader Tuesday night against Northeast-10 conference foe American International College.

The women’s team (15-4, 12-3) sits at third place in the conference while the Yellow Jackets are in the eighth spot. The women’s game tips at 5:30 p.m.

Setters senior Brittany Shields is averaging 17.3 points and 2.2 assists this season. She is also fourth in the conference at 9.7 rebounds per game. Michelle Lafond leads American International with 13.9 points per game. She has also added 2.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game.

Pace is 22-14 all-time against American International. The Setters beat the Yellow Jackets on Nov. 22 by a score of 50-46.

The men’s team (9-10, 7-8) is one of four teams in seventh place in the NE-10 conference while the Yellow Jackets sit in 15th place with a 6-13 overall record and a 4-11 record in conference.

Sophomore Denzel Primus-Devonish leads the Setters with 14.6 points and has added four assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. Keon Williams leads the Setters in rebounding with 6.5 per game and has added 11.2 points per game.

The duo of Spencer Braithwaite and David Campbell lead the Yellow Jackets. Braithwaite is averaging 12.2 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game while Campbell has averaged 11.1 points and 6.6 boards per game. Janek Schmidkunz has chipped in 10 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.

The Setters are 15-13 all-time against American International. The Yellow Jackets beat Pace, 66-62, on Nov. 22.
