Mundorf Scores Twice As Setters Top Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass.-- Amanda Mundorf scored twice Saturday to lead the Pace women’s soccer team to a 3-2 win over the Falcons of Bentley University as the Setters hit the road for a key Northeast-10 Conference game.

The Setters improved to 6-7-1 and 5-6-1, while the Falcons fell to 4-9-1 and 3-7-1 in conference play.

Pace took advantage of two critical Bentley miscues to jump out to an early lead. Mundorf netted her first goal at the four-minute mark off a scramble in front of the net to put Pace up 1-0 and scored again at the 15:10 mark as the Falcons turned the ball over in their zone.

The Setters their lead in the second half as Shrub Oak’s Meghan Tremblay, a Lakeland High graduate,  scored off a Jillian Ferro pass to push the Setter lead to 3-0 at the 69:46 mark.

The Falcons would score less than a minute later and added second goal with 74:48 left in the game to close to gap to 3-2. Pace would hold on down the stretch to post their fourth win in a row.

Pace goalie Courtany Hagen (New Paltz, N.Y)) posted another solid effort in net, finishing with five saves.

The Setters are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Garden City, N.Y. for a Northeast-10 Conference game against Adelphi University.
