The 12th annual Windmill Triathlon will take place at the Windmill Club at 10 Maple Way on Saturday, Sept. 3, with the race beginning at 7:30 a.m. The triathlon attracts participants from all over Westchester.

The triathlon involves a 1/2 mile swim, a 13 mile bike ride and a 5K run.

"We're a real tight-knit community," Andrew Goldberg, one of the organizers said. "We do a lot together."

Goldberg said the event attracts about 50 participants and a biathlon/triathlon for kids generally attracts 30 participants.

"We're a very physically active community," Goldberg said. "It's something that makes sense to do."

Goldberg said the triathlon generally takes about two hours and the Windmill Club holds a party afterward.
