Pleasantville Superintendent Gets Raise

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- A pay increase for Pleasantville Superintendent Mary Fox-Alter was unanimously approved by the school board recently, according to theexaminernews.com.

Fox-Alter will receive a $230,000 annual salary that will be increased by 1.88 percent for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 school years. The amendment also discontinues a $5,000 annual annuity payment to the superintendent, theexaminernews.com reported. 

Fox-Alter has not had a raise since taking the job three years ago and has also agreed to pay a higher percentage of her healthcare costs to keep expenses down, theexaminernews said.
