PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- A Pleasantville student recently won an honorable mention in the national Letters About Literature contest sponsored by the Library of Congress.
Violet Fearon's letter to Anne Frank, one of 50,000 entries from students in grades 4-12 nationwide, previously won first place in Level 3 in the state portion of the contest.
The winning letters from each state were judged by a national committee, which selected three national winners per level: a first place winner and two honorable mentions. These winning letters, including Fearon's, will be posted on the Library of Congress website.
Letters About Literature winners, along with the 2016 Class of Inductees into the NYS Writers Hall of Fame will be honored at a ceremony on Tuesday, June 7 in New York City.
