PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pleasantville students are getting help with their homework from some tutors who were once in the same place.

Pleasantville High School students who are part of the school’s community service club Encouraging Children to Help Others (ECHO) are volunteering their time to help kids as part of a special program at the Mount Pleasant Public Library.

The after-school homework help program assists students on Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“I like helping little kids and it’s something to do when I have free time,” ECHO member Alex Manzi, a first-year volunteer said in a statement.

For more information about the program, contact the library’s Children’s Services at 914-769-0548, ext. 3 or email

The Mount Pleasant Library is at 350 Bedford Road in Pleasantville.
