PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Pleasantville athletes are standing up to cancer while they stand up to the competition.
The Pleasantville School District Athletics Program is selling black t-shirts with the phrase "Panthers Fight Strong” on the front and "Support the FIGHTERS, Admiring the SURVIVORS,” “Honoring the TAKEN” and “And never ever giving up HOPE” on the back. The shirts are $15.
The program is also selling black adjustable baseball caps with a pink paw on the front and a teal cervical cancer ribbon on the side for $20.
The gear is being sold for the school's Panthers vs. Cancer month, which is being celebrated in May.
All of the school's teams will be wearing the gear from May 6 through 12 to support the fight against cervical cancer. All proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society.
