Photos: Pleasantville Students Honored For Visual Arts

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – When it comes to the arts, these kids are at the top of their game.

Pleasantville students Samantha D'Angelo, Liz Faulkner, Silpaa Gunabalan and Luisa Klein took home first in fashion, the most competitive category, at the Olympics of the Visual Arts.

Pleasantville Middle and High School students earned several awards at the state-wide Olympics of the Visual Arts competition in Saratoga Springs.

From the middle school, students Ariana Altman and Elizabeth Jankowski placed first in Numismatic Design. Samantha D'Angelo, Liz Faulkner, Silpaa Gunabalan and Luisa Klein took home first in fashion, the most competitive category. Carina Florio earned second place in the photography competition while Austin Altman took home third in elementary photography. Sabrina Ipyam, Melissa Oliveira and Marisa Rodriguez earned third in drawing.

From the high school, students Marisa Aponte, Sarah Cusak, Sarah Gellman and Janna McPartland earned honorable mention in photography. Laura Chapman and Mallory Kantor took home second in illustration. Jacob Nemec earned second place in sculpture.
