PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Travis Sherer, a Pace University adjunct professor, member of the New York State Society of Physician Assistants conference planning and diversity committees and program manager at Lenox Hill Retroviral Disease Center has been named to Gov. The task force is a three-pronged plan to reduce the number of HIV infections to 750 by 2020.

The Task Force on Ending Aids is responsible for developing and issuing an executive plan for New York State  to achieve the following goals:

Identifying persons with HIV who remain undiagnosed and linking them to health care

Linking and retaining persons diagnosed with HIV to health care and getting them on anti- HIV therapy to maximize HIV virus suppression so they remain healthy and prevent further transmission

Facilitating access to Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for high-risk persons to keep them HIV negative.
