Members of the Pace football, volleyball and cheerleading teams volunteered throughout the morning to read to the students at the Bedford Road School for the fourth straight year. Each year the Bedford Road School celebrates Dr. Seuss’ birthday with a theme from one of his famous books. Pace athletes read to classes throughout the school and answered questions about their sport and their favorite books growing up, school officials said.
Bedford Road School consists of students from kindergarten through fourth-grade. Both Pace student-athletes and athletics administrators participated in the event reading childhood favorites such as "Green Eggs and Ham" and "Oh, The Places You’ll Go."
"This is an event that our team looks forward to each year," said sophomore volleyball player Alyssa Marchino. "We really enjoy visiting the school and celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading to the students."
