The title of the talk is “Building a World Order: Strategies and Tactics”. They will focus on questions such as: how best do we build a global architecture of security and cooperation? Can we learn from crucial episodes in recent conflicts and world history?
Kissinger is the founder and chair of Kissinger Associates, an international consulting forum. He has been a U.S. Secretary of State, National Security Advisor, diplomat, and professor of political science.
Burns is president of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He has been a U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, with the highest rank in the Foreign Service, Career Ambassador. He has also been an ambassador to Russia and Jordan, and Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs. He speaks Russian, Arabic and French.
The moderator will be Lester Crystal, the executive producer of the PBS NewsHour and former President of MacNeil Lehrer Productions.
The talk will begin at 7 p.m.
The event is part of the college’s President’s Forum, a fundraiser for student scholarships, and for institutional and faculty development.
