Barbara Brandenberg Named Pleasantville Teacher Of The Year

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Barbara Brandenberg, a middle school guidance counselor, had been named the Pleasantville school district's 2015 Teacher of the Year.

The Board of Education honored Brandenberg, who works at the Bedford Road School, at its April 28 meeting. 

The board also recognized the following students: Eighth-grader Andrew Skrzypczak, who won the school-level National Geography Bee championship and qualified for the state competition; Aliya Castoldi, Charlotte Harter, Ben June, Susannah Lahiri, Tim Peacock, and Sam Selesnick, winners of the eighth-grade writing contest sponsored by the Marmaduke Writing Factory; junior Julia Mulry, who received the Girl Scouts’ Gold Award; and seniors Dane Bishop, Robert Santander and Patrick Watts, who attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
