PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- After making an informal presentation last September to the village on a plan to build 72 luxury townhouses in Pleasantville, Toll Brothers is set to submit a formal application for the project, according to Village Administrator Patti Dwyer.

"The Board of Trustees will be set to accept Toll Brothers' application at its next meeting this month," Dwyer said. "It's exciting, we'll see where it goes from here."

Toll Brothers plans to build the townhouses in the current 18 acres of vacant office buildings on Washington Avenue near the Chappaqua border. The property was previously owned by the Saw Mill Office Campus and is currently zoned for office space only.

In a previous informal presentation made to the Pleasantville Board of Trustees, representatives with Toll Brothers said that the townhouses will each be about 1,900 to around 2,800 square feet in size. It was also originally presented that Toll Brothers estimates the townhouses to sell in the price range of $600,000 to $800,000 and that a small portion of the property would be reserved for affordable housing. The units will be a mixture in design and layout.

Since the property is currently zoned for office space, Toll Brothers would need to go through the process of rezoning the property for multiple-residence zoning, which would require a public hearing for residents to express their concerns and ask questions.

The application will be accepted at the Village Board of Trustees next public meeting on Jan. 26 at Village Hall in Pleasantville.
