March Village Elections Set For Pleasantville

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Voters in some Westchester are villages slated to go to the polls on Wednesday, March 18. Some villages have uncontested races while others have competitive ones. Here is an overview of some of the contested elections:

A split has emerged among Sleepy Hollow incumbents as Mayor Ken Wray, who has in the past run on the Democratic ticket, is heading is own party line called Unite Sleepy Hollow.

Running with him are incumbent Trustee Glenn Rosenbloom and challengers John Leavy and Denise Scaglione for the remaining trustee seats.

The Democratic ticket, which also has a party line called Responsive Government, includes current Trustee Karin Wompa as its candidate for mayor.

Joining her is incumbent Trustee Bruce Campbell to re-election for his seat, along with challenger Mary Linder and Jose Chevere for the other two trustee seats.

Port Chester's former mayor, Dennis Pilla, is seeking his old job and is running as the Democratic candidate. His opponent, current Trustee Gene Ceccarelli, is supported by both the Republican and Conservative parties.

Meanwhile, some villages have uncontested races that also include candidates filling open seats. In Scarsdale, Jon Mark is running for mayor unopposed. The current mayor is Robert Steves.

In Pleasantville, former Trustee Joseph Stargiotti is running for a seat that will be vacated by Jonathan Cunningham, according to The Examiner.
