Police Issue 56 Tickets In Westchester Distracted Driving Detail

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police conducted a six-hour distracted driving detail in four Westchester County towns on Wednesday, July 27, in an effort to cut down on the number of distracted driving-related accidents.

Five troopers focused on the towns of Somers, Lewisboro, North Castle and Bedford on Interstate 684, according to Trooper Melissa McMorris.

As a result of the detail, the following traffic tickets were issued:

  • 31 - cell phone violations
  • 13 - speeding violations
  • 2 - seatbelt violations
  • 8 - other violations
