Man Charged With Allegedly Exposing Himself To Woman At Area Library

COLD SPRING, N.Y. -- Benjamin Thompon, a 36-year-old Highland Falls resident, was arrested and charged Thursday night with public lewdness for allegedly exposing himself to a woman at the Butterfield Library on Monday.

Thompson was arrested following a joint investigation by the Cold Spring Police Department and Putnam County Sheriff's Office. Police said they circulated photographs and received tips on social media to help arrest Thompson.

Thompson was remanded to Putnam County Correctional Facility with bail set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. Thompson has previous convictions in Florida for burglary, automobile theft, felony drug distribution, battery against an officer and rioting, police said.

If convicted on the public lewdness charge, Thompson could face up to six months in jail.
