Man, 31, Charged With Heroin Possession In Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, N.Y. – A Lagrange man was found in possession of heroin in Mount Pleasant, according to the New York State Police.

About 3:20 a.m. Thursday, state police troopers were investigating a motor vehicle accident.

As a result of their investigation, they arrested Remzi Alijaj, age 31.

Alijaj is charged with two felony crimes – seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired (DWAI.)

Alijaj’s felony DWAI charge is because his criminal history shows he was convicted of another DWAI in the past decade, police said.

Alijaj’s next court appearance will be Dec. 4 at 9:30 a.m. in the Town of Mount Pleasant Court.
