Info Released After Man Struck, Killed By Train At Metro-North Station

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - Additional information has been released after a man was fatally struck by a train near the Metro-North station in Hartsdale on Sunday in an apparent suicide.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, an unauthorized man on the tracks was struck by a northbound train operating on the Harlem Line. Train service was temporarily delayed by as much as a half hour following the incident. 

The man was 35 years old, MTA Police Department reported on Tuesday.

His identity has not yet been released by the MTA Police.

According to an MTA spokesperson, it does not appear as though any criminality was involved in the incident, nor does it appear to have been an accident.

A woman traveling on the train that struck the man reported she saw him jump in front of the train.

The incident remains under investigation by the MTA Police Department. Follow Daily Voice for updates as they become available.
