Foul Baseball Breaks Windshield In Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - A foul ball hit from Parkway Field apparently resulted in a cracked windshield for a Vacu-Matic Sales Co. work van, police said.

The white van was parked on Hopper Street around 8:20 a.m., Monday, when an employee noticed the damage. Nothing was found near the van, but police said the crack appeared to have been caused by a baseball.

In other blotter news:

  • A 24-year-old Pleasantville woman reported to police that somebody had broken into her Bedford Road apartment. According to the report, the woman came home around 4 p.m. on Aug. 3 and saw that a window was open. Police searched the apartment and found that nothing had been damaged or stolen.
  • A 23-year-old Lutherville, Md. woman told police that her car was damaged on Sunday morning while parked on Marble Avenue. The woman returned to her white 2004 Volvo S60 and reportedly discovered that the sunroof was shattered, police said.
