Five Caught After Stolen Vehicle Chase On Route 22 In North Castle

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Four teens and one 20-year-old were arrested Wednesday night after allegedly stealing a motorcycle and leading police on a chase on Route 22.

Francisco Periera, 16, Robin Medina, 20, Ernick Rodriguez, 19, Christopher Cespedez, 17 and Jonathan Serrano, 17, all residents of New York City, were arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a Class E felony.

On Wednesday night, a resident of Carpenter Way called 911 and complained his motorcycle was stolen, police said. Police received another 911 call of a motorcycle being operated erratically with no lights on and being followed by a minivan near Labriola Court, police said.

Police attempted to stop the minivan, but the minivan drove away before the officer could approach, police said. A pursuit ensued on south Route 22 for four minutes before the minivan stopped on Route 22 near Rye Lake Bridge, police said. The men were taken into custody and the motorcycle was recovered, police said.

The men were released on bail and are due back in North Castle Town Court on April 18.
