John DeGrazia, Jr., 93, Of Pleasantville, WWII Air Force Veteran

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - John DeGrazia, Jr., of Pleasantville, died Sept 2. He was 93.

DeGrazia was born Oct. 30, 1919, the son of Antoinette Elephante and John DeGrazia, Sr. A graduate of Pace University in New York, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII as a bombardier instructor. He worked in finance in the automotive industry and retired in 1987. A lifelong resident of Pleasantville, he served as commander of American Legion Post 77, president of the Holy Name Society,  and as treasurer and longtime member of the Pleasantville Ambulance Corp.

DeGrazia is survived by his children, John Barrett DeGrazia of Arlington, Va., Martha C. DeGrazia of Slingerlands, James (Janice) DeGrazia of Cranberry Township, Pa., Michael DeGrazia of White Plains, and Martin DeGrazia of Pleasantville. He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine Barrett; and all of his siblings.

Calling hours are from 4-8 p.m. Sept. 5 at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home in Pleasantville. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Sept. 6 at Holy Innocents.
