Howard S. Madalon, 63, Former Baseball Standout At Pace

OSSINING, N.Y. -- Howard S. Madalon, a resident of Ossining and formerly of Elmsford and Bronx died Sunday. Howard was born in the Bronx on April 13, 1953 and was the son of the late, Sal and Beatrice (Goldstein) Madalon. He was 63.

Howie was a graduate of Alexander Hamilton High School in 1971. He received his BA from Pace University in Pleasantville and his MA from Fordham University. Howie was a retired teacher at St. Christopher’s School in Dobbs Ferry, working with underprivileged children, until his retirement in 2009.

He also was a former baseball star at Pace University, where he was awarded many accolades for baseball accomplishments. He coached high school softball and was twice awarded “Coach of the Year." He also was an umpire and loved every aspect of the game.

Madalon is survived by his two children, Jessica Marroquin and Brent; his two brothers Joseph and Scott; and his former wife Jan. He was also a loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22 at Kensico Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by Dorsey Funeral Home, Inc. in Ossining
