PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Catherine O’Grady, a resident of Pleasantville, formerly of Mount Vernon, died Sunday, May 22. She was 86.
She was born on Jan.31,1930, to James and Ellen Jane Durkin.
She grew up in Mount Vernon and attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and graduated from A.B. Davis High School.
She married John J O'Grady in June of 1951 and the couple resided in Mount Vernon until 1999 and moved to Pleasantville.
She is survived by her children Ellenjane LaSorsa of North Carolina, Bernadette (Frank) Faughnan, Gary (Laura), Andrew (Laura), Daniel, and Veronica; 10 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren..
She was predeceased by a son, John J. O’Grady; brothers James, Walter, John, Joseph, Edward Durkin’ sisters, Helen Quinn, Dorothy Janniello, Marion Williams and Rita Durkin.
Yannantuono Funeral Home in Mount Vernon handled the arrangements.
