PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Anthony M. Scarpone, a 70-year resident of Pleasantville, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, He was 90.
Scarpone was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Italy, a son of Michael and Bibiana Scarpone. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for more than 40 years, retiring from the Pleasantville Post Office. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompeii Church in Pleasantville for more than 60 years. He also was a member of the Mount Kisco American Legion Post.
Scarpone is survived by his son, Richard Scarpone. His wife, Ines; and brother, William died earlier.
Calling hours are Sunday, Dec. 1, from 2 to 6 p.m., at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home , Pleasantville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 2, at Holy Innocents Church, Pleasantville. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Pleasantville.
