PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Alfred Farella, most recently of Pleasantville, and formerly of Yonkers, died May 25. He was 84.
Farella was born April 8, 1929, to Dominick and Fortunata (nee Cardinale) Farella in the Bronx. He was owner-operator of Bronxwood Avenue Cleaners in the Bronx, retiring in 1993.
Farella is survived by his sons, Steven J.(Ellen) Farella of Goldens Bridge, and Alfred A. (Jean) Farella of Hawthorne; sister, Bridget Carboni of Milford, Conn.; brother, Vincent Farella of Yorktown Heights; and seven grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Camille (nee Altomare) Farella; and brothers, Peter and Mario.
Calling hours are Tuesday, May 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hawthorne Funeral Home, 21 West Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, New York 10532, 914-769-4404. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29 at Holy Rosary Church, Hawthorne. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
