What's Happening This Weekend in Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – An Easter egg hunt, Palm Sunday programs and workshops at the Stone Barns Center highlight this weekend’s events in Pleasantville.

Friday

-Preschool Story Time at the Mount Pleasant Public Library, 11 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Interactive story time that uses pictures, songs and finger plays to help children at the preschool level better understand reading and the enjoyment of books. This event is best suited for children ages 2 ½ to 5 years old and is free to the public.

Saturday

-Egg Hunt at Nannahagan Park, 10 a.m.

Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Pleasantville Recreation Department and the Lions Club.  For children ages 2 to 9 years old.  Candy will be provided and the event is free to the public. 

-Swing Time Lounge Party at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

A night of music, dancing and food with live professional swing dancers at the Pleasantville St. John’s Episcopal Church.  The event will also feature a live auction for a trip to Nantucket, the Bahamas, Broadway shows and more.  Tickets are $35 a person.

-Mushroom Cultivation Workshop at The Stone Barns Center, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Eighth Annual Mushroom Cultivation Workshop from the center’s Vegetable Manager Jack Algeire and gardener Lauren Perkins.  The workshop will lead the group through the basics of growing and caring for mushrooms in your own garden. The program is $15 for adults and $9 for youths.

Sunday

-Palm Sunday Concert at Pleasantville’s Emanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1 p.m.

Special Palm Sunday concert will feature the church’s choir along with the La Spiritata Recorder Quartet.  The event is free to the public.
