WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Three Democratic members of the Westchester County Board of Legislators have requested an audit of the county Board of Ethics.

A letter sent to state Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli by the legislators – Majority Leader Catherine Borgia, D-Ossining, and Legislators Pete Harckham, D-North Salem, and Ken Jenkins, D-Yonkers – points out that a review process for financial statements of county officials was never put in place by County Executive Rob Astorino.

DiNapoli ordered that a review process be put in place in March 2010.

“While the Westchester County Board of Legislators put a review plan in place, unfortunately, nothing has changed four years later. In fact, it was revealed just last week that Westchester County Executive Astorino has been drawing outside income, and part of that income has come from a company that has received a $3.8 million county contract,” a statement in the letter reads.

“Additionally, although the Westchester County Board of Legislators enacted an overhaul of ethics procedures and put in place a review process for the financial disclosure statements of county officials, it has come to our attention that despite being provided with the funding, the county executive’s office never implemented the plan,” the letter continues.

I do think that it is the Democrats that should not want to poke the wasps nest. Isn't it usually a democrat that is going to jail lately? They should be careful what they wish for.

I wonder if these Democrats will also back an independent council looking into Andrew Cuomo's interference and disbanding of the Moreland Commission. Will these democrats also investigate why Bill Ryan's plumb job with Westchester County Medical Center, approved by most of these democrats above. These guy are a joke.

Sam k says it all

They're also bitter that they lost the majority. Well I mean most of the Democrats, there are a couple that do still sit with the majority. What a bunch of sore losers they are.

Not sure she's the majority leader either, she and her fellow Democrats control nothing on the board anymore.

Who's thankful Bramson didn't win? I sure am.

Anyone that follows politics in Westchester County knows full well this issue is politically motivated. Borgia is a protege of Sandy Galef and 20 yr plus state assembly leader and supporter of Cuomo and Sheldong Silver. Harkham, ("bark 'em") well he's another "dog", anti Astorino and whatever the County Executive does. Jenkins!! Well..he's a joke. Everyone knows he's mad because he was ousted as Majority leader for the County Legislatures. He's so bad that he's even got a vendetta against Mike Kapolowitz for overthrowing him!!! And since Kaplowitiz is a supporter of Astorino it's no wonder Jenkins attacks Astorino. These bleeding heart liberal Democrats are worried that County Executive Astorino will defeat Cuomo in the Nov election and are concerned about any repercussions should Astorino become Governor. In the meantime they do nothing but cost the taxpayers money with their frivolous charges. I recommend they stick to the issues at hand of making sure the county is run effectively and efficiently. If not..then go away and save the taxpayers money!!!
