SOMERS, N.Y. -- Thousands of residents in the Heritage Hills condominium development in Somers had their water service shut off Thursday night and Friday after a water main break.

Repairs were completed Friday night, but a boil water alert is expected to be in effect for several days.

Most of the more than 4,000 residents of Heritage Hills are senior citizens.
