This Weekend in Pleasantville

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – After a wild winter storm took over Westchester last weekend, this may be a great weekend to enjoy the events and activities going on in Pleasantville.  Here is a quick list of what’s happening this weekend.

Friday: Captain Lawrence Brewery complimentary beer tasting.  4 p.m. – 7 p.m.  99 Castleton Street, Pleasantville.

Global Hunger Shabbat at the Pleasantville Community Synagogue. 7:15 p.m.  Learn how the synagogue can help provide food and water for those suffering around the world.  Open to the public.

Wine Pairings for the Holidays at Marmaduke Forster House, 415 Bedford Road, Pleasantville.  A night of wine and food pairings for the holiday season.  Admission is $40.  All proceeds benefit the Community Scholarship Fund of Pleasantville.

Saturday: Pleasantville Farmer’s Market.  8:30 a.m – 1:30 p.m.  Memorial Plaza parking lot.

Sunday: Chamber Music Concert with the Manhattan String Quartet at the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church.  3 p.m.  Free and open to the public.

Duck, You Sucker at the Jacob Burns Film Center.  5 p.m.  Q&A session following the movie with Academy Award winning director Jonathan Demme.  $9 for members, $14 for nonmembers.
