The Sunrise Senior Living would be a three-story building with 79 units and 90 residents. Sunrise is asking the village to create an Eldercare Community Floating District. The district would provide the village board with the discretion to permit assisted living facilities on properties it deems appropriate.

Senior citizens who spoke at the meeting said having another assisted living facility would give them more options and allow them to remain in the village while other residents expressed opposition to granting them the zoning change, comparing it to a previous proposal for the Methodist Church that failed to gain approval from the village.
