Rain Doesn't Deter Pleasantville Lions Club Food Drive

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Members of the Pleasantville Lions Club spent five hours in heavy rains on Sunday collecting food for residents in need, according to the Examiner News.

The Pleasantville Lions Club collected food for the needy last weekend despite heavy rains. The food was collected for families in need who use the Interfaith Emergency Food Pantry.

Using a canopy outside the Key Food, members collected food for the Interfaith Emergency Food Pantry, which operates out of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church as part of the club's worldwide day of service to fight hunger and proverty, said the Examiner News.

The Interfaith Emergency Food Pantry serves some 40 families, and is open on alternate Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Those in need come from Millwood, Chappaqua, Pleasantville, Thornwood and Hawthorne, added the Examiner News.
