Alert For Missing Woman, 72, Canceled

The missing person alert issued Wednesday for 72-year-old Elizabeth Shaw has been canceled, authorities announced.

Authorities are searching for a 72-year-old woman with dementia and heart trouble who has been missing since Wednesday afternoon and is in need of medical attention.

Elizabeth Shaw was last seen about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at her Alhambra Road home in the Nassau County hamlet of Baldwin, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, which issued a Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert soon after her disappearance.

Shaw is believed to be traveling on foot. She was last seen wearing a black, long sleeved shirt; black pants and a black bag in which she carried her medication with an IV in her right arm, according to authorities.

She previously lived in Queens and may be attempting to make her way back the borough, authorities said.

Shaw has white hair, stands about 5-feet-4-inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds.

Anyone who may spot her is urged to contact Nassau County police at 516-573-7347 or call 911.
