Pleasantville's Sal Locascio Celebrates 50 Years As Cab Driver In NYC

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Sal Locascio, an 87-year-old Pleasantville resident, has 50 years worth of experience driving a yellow cab in New York City, and is currently the oldest medallion-owning cab driver in the city, according to an article in The New York Times.

Locascio began driving a yellow cab in the early 1960s after working in construction for his father and as a buildings inspector in the city, according to the article. 

In the 1960's, he worked more than 80 hours a week to pay off the loan for his medallion, which reportedly would sell for around $1 million today, according to the report.
